Janaan's title track is as sappy as its trailer (not that that's a bad thing)

If sickly sweet love songs are your thing, you can add Janaan's title track to your playlist.
The song, released at midnight, features the vocals of one Armaan Malik, an Indian crooner who's sung tracks for Kapoor & Sons, Ki & Ka and Azhar this year. (Fun fact: He's also the nephew of ace composer Anu Malik.)

Like the trailer, the song's video features some moments of friction, but lyrics of heartache convince us that they're nothing more than lovers' squabbles.
The song has us thinking that Janaan will be more romantic drama than the rom-com it was promised to be. The one thing that was missing from the tried and tested formula of beautiful people against beautiful backdrops was a soaring ballad like the one above. Janaan is turning out to be the film that 'aunties' and their betis will be a sucker for.
After Bin Roye, this seems to promise the same 'halal romance' we all seem to love so much.
